Past Project: R.A.K.E.s
Letters from some of the homeowners we've served
Good morning. This is Diane Archie. I wanted to call again and extend my
heartfelt thank you to the wonderful angel men that were out here yesterday.
They worked in the rain and mud and they even laid on the wet cement and my
heart felt so humbled that I just wanted them to stop. But when I went out
I said to one of the men, “Maybe they should just let it go for now,” and
he said, “Do you know where I would like to be?” And I said, “Home, in a
nice warm house?” and he said, “Right here, doing what I’m doing.” So
they’re truly men of God working to serve God, just like Jesus did. That’s
the only way I can comprehend all this kindness is that they are following
of course the example of Jesus to do God’s will. So I’m humbled and I’m
overwhelmed and I’m very, very thankful and I just wanted you all to know that.
Thank you very much. Good-Bye.Download this powerful voice mail message.
We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Project: R.A.K.E. volunteers for the wheelchair ramp built on to our home. Your act of kindness has blessed and touched our lives both spiritually and physically.
Your prompt response to our need spoke volumes and the volunteers worked diligently. It is refreshing to see an organization reaching out to the youth and community providing them with skills that will benefit and make a difference in this world.
We are truly thankful and are blessed by your sincere act of kindness. What a wonderful way to let your light shine.

I have heat! For the first time since I've lived in my house I
can feel hot air! Ernie's damper worked! The whole atmosphere
within the house has changed; I have never stepped out of my
shower and into warm air circulating in the bathroom.
I have had to use three sources of heating since I lived here;
kerosene on level one, oil heat on level two, and electric
heat on the third level (the basement was always warm).
Heating has cost me a fortune, and has put me in debt and
darkness (circuit breakers blew out all the time on that
side of the house). Weekends were ok, because I could
keep the electric and kerosene heaters on; but weekdays
I had them shut off during the day so every night
we came home to a cold house! When we got home we'd turn the oil
heater way up high, the electric heater on high, and lug kerosene
upstairs to turn that heater on too.
The house took forever to warm up.
We'd wear coats and blankets around the house until about 8:00pm, it was awful.
Even the furniture was freezing.
Once, I tried turning on the oven and the stovetop but that melted the dials.
Everybody in your group is so nice, and friendly and serious about
helping and getting the project done. Your volunteers are very keen, always looking ahead.
We are very happy to have heat again! Every now and then I even break out in a dance.
Thank you all so much,
Mrs. Ritza Hazen
I received a very nice picture of you and the crew that worked
through the Project R.A.K.E weekend. I just wanted to thank you
and your crew for helping me do work that I could not do.
Oh yes, I saw different things that needed to be done, but
I knew there was no way I could do the work. I really appreciate
all of the work you and your crew did for me and I really enjoyed
the crew of young people as they enjoyed working with a big Jesus
smile and they put a smile on my face, which will never be wiped
off or forgotten. Please tell the crew I am going to frame the
picture for a reminder of the wonderful time we had together,
it is good to see the youth working for Jesus. For Jesus said
if you do it unto the little ones you did it for me you and your
crew will be blessed by God for helping people that can not help
themselves. Oh yes, you will have stars in your crown! Thank you,
thank you, thank you and may God bless you all!
Love,
Mrs. Velma Baker
Having been in the company of your group the last two Sundays,
I miss seeing all of your smiling faces today. This is just a
note to tell you how much I appreciate my new roof, "Let it snow!
Let it snow! Let it snow!" I feel enriched by having met your
group, and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for
the blessing you have given me.
God bless!

My mother and I would like to thank you all for
your wonderful kindness. It was a real gift
from God that sent all of you to my mother's aid. We really
appreciate all everyone did. Thank you for the Thanksgiving
turkey, food and gift card from Giant store. You all are so
kind and generous. You all really show what a Christian really
is all about by helping older people. My mother needed the help
and God knew to send all of you. God bless! Let the Holy
Spirit fill your hearts with joy and peace.
